Prices of our Colombian boas are based on three criteria.
(1) Colors & patterns:
- Low priced boas ($225-$300) may be thought of as "common" boas. However, even our "common boas" have above-average color and possibly some
unique patterning (e.g. tail striping) due to years of selective breeding of common boas..
- Mid-priced boas ($315-$725) tend to exhibit outstanding, brilliant color(s) and/or very unique patterns. For example, boas in this
price range may be anerythristic (lacking in red pigment) or have other unique color features.
- High-priced boas ($750 and up) represent extremely hard-to-find selections including albino boas and snow boas.
(2) Genetics: many offspring are "homozygous" and carry genetics for the 'common' boa only. However, some of our offspring are likely to be genetically "heterozygous" for
features such as anerythrisism and albinism. Offspring this is likely to be heterozygous are generally priced somewhat higher.
(3) Age: As our baby boas mature their price is increased as older boas are larger and are closer to the age at which they can begin to produce offspring. Prices are updated every few months as the boas grow older and get larger. However, older snakes (e.g. yearlings) may or may not be more expensive than more recent offspring because of variation in colors and/or patterns.
